Privacy policy

Rotze Kaze ("the app") photographs an item and finds similar products on AliExpress. This document states exactly which data the app collects, why, and where it goes.

No account, no personal identification

There is no sign-up, login, username, email or password. No name, email, phone number or any identifying detail is collected. On install the app draws a random identifier that is tied to no person, device or Google account, used only for the daily identification quota and to count the usage data described below.

Language and country

On first launch you pick a UI language and a country of residence. The country decides which products are shown and in which currency. Both values are stored on the device and sent to the server with every search; both can be changed at any time in Settings.

The photos you take

A photo you take or pick from the gallery is sent to the developer's server and from there to the AI model provider (Anthropic) for the sole purpose of identifying the object. The photo is not stored on the server, not logged, and not used for training. What is kept is only a short text description of what was identified (for example "green insulated mug") and the search words derived from it. Camera and photo access are requested only when you tap the matching button.

AliExpress search and affiliate links

The search words, the country and the currency are sent to the AliExpress API to get a list of products. The product links are affiliate links: tapping one opens the AliExpress site in your device's browser, and if you buy there the developer receives a small commission from AliExpress at no extra cost to you. From the moment you leave the app, the AliExpress privacy policy applies. The app does not handle, and never sees, the purchase, the payment or the shipping.

Usage data

To learn what works and what does not, the app records basic usage events: app opened, photo taken, search succeeded or failed, product opened, language or country changed. Labels only. For each search the app also keeps what was identified, how many results came back and how long it took; for each tap, which product and at what price. All of it is tied to the random identifier only, stored on the developer's own server and never shared with third parties. The server also records the country a request came from, country level only, no IP address. The shelf of other apps in Settings is loaded from the same server, sending nothing but the language.

Deleting your data

Delete the app from the device. The language, the country and the random identifier go with it. The app holds no accounts, passwords, emails, contacts or payment details, so there is nothing to delete beyond the device itself.
